MANHATTAN, DONE RIGHT
A curated guide to where to stay, dine, and move through New York at its most refined.
New York rewards those who know how to move through it.
Not everything. Not everywhere. Not all at once.
The city reveals itself differently when you choose selectively. When reservations are intentional, locations are considered, and time is treated as the luxury it is. What once felt overwhelming becomes refined. Says shaped by instinct rather than urgency, and a rhythm that feels entirely your own. In Manhattan, the difference is rarely access. It’s knowing exactly how to move through it.
WHERE TO STAY
AMAN NEW YORK
The most private address in Manhattan, and easily the most controlled, beautiful and amazing stay. Set within the Crown Building, Aman feels entirely removed from the city below. The interiors are just stunning, with fireplaces in every room. The spa alone is worth the stay, but it’s the discretion that defines it. low-profile, beautiful and exceptional service.
FOUQUET’S NEW YORK
Downtown, but done properly. A Tribeca address with Parisian influence, where Brasserie Fouquet’s New York anchors the experience. It’s where fashion, film, and downtown energy meet, but with a level of refinement that keeps it from ever feeling chaotic.
THE SURREY
Understated and residential, tucked into the Upper East Side in a way that feels entirely intentional. It’s the kind of hotel you stay at when you don’t want to feel like you’re in a hotel at all. Quiet, curated, and just removed enough from everything else. Casa Tua in the hotel is also amazing.
THE CARLYLE
Old New York, untouched. The kind of place where nothing needs to change. Evenings begin, or end at The Bemelmans Bar, where the murals, piano, and low lighting create something that can’t be replicated. Presidents, royalty, and generational regulars pass through quietly. It’s less about being seen, more about belonging.
WHERE TO DINE
New York is one of the few cities where a perfect slice and a three-star counter hold equal weight.
MASA
A omakase where nothing is explained and nothing needs to be. Toro, uni, and perfectly formed nigiri served in silence. This is less dinner, more experience.
THE POLO BAR
The burger, the martinis, the room. Wood-paneled, dim, and always full of people who know each other, or want to. Tables are kept, and no one is in a hurry to leave.
THE GRILL
Mid-century New York brought back properly. Carved prime rib, Dover sole, martinis done tableside. Jackets, low lighting, and a dining room that still feels like an occasion.
TORRISI
Italian-American. Veal parm, seafood pastas, and a room that moves. Loud enough to feel alive, sharp enough to stay controlled. This is downtown at its best right now.
MASSARA
Southern Italian without excess. Wood-fired breads, simple pastas, and ingredients that don’t need adjusting. The kind of place you return to without overthinking it.
KAZUNORI
Hand rolls, one after the other, eaten immediately. Warm rice, crisp nori, no substitutions. You sit, you eat, you leave, quick.
L’INDUSTRIE PIZZERIA
Burrata slices, fig jam, prosciutto. Pizza done with just enough care to make it stand out. You eat standing up or on the sidewalk.

Recently arrived in New York, Wheely offers a quieter, more considered alternative to the usual car services. Private chauffeurs, seamless arrivals, and a level of discretion that matches the pace of everything else done right.
